I got the inspiration for this card from Chat over at Me, My Stamps & I. I loved her card, and just couldn't wait to give it a go in one of my favourite colour combos; kraft, baja breeze, night of navy & black.
I used the newest individual butterfly stamp (cant find my mini to give you the right name-sorry) He is stamped in black onto the white circle, then I stamped him on vellum, coloured him and cut him out. IRL his wings are lifted and quite transparent, making him look deliciously realistic. Initially, I had created a night of navy ribbon using markers and white taffeta, which looked really great, but wouldnt stay adhered, even with the red sticky strip and in the end, I completely wrecked the bottom of my card, so I ended up with the baja ribbon and the lovely grey cord button. This is the first time I think I have used one of these buttons (they are just too fabulous to part with!) I kind of muffed it but had spent way tooooo long on it to start again, so over the top I went! Oh well, I like it anyway :)

Beautiful card. I love the butterfly. You coloured it beautifully.

This is lovely. I love the butterfly effect.
Hi Leonie! Your butterfly is spectacular! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a nice comment! While you were there did you notice that I had given you a blog award???
WOW Leonie, this is stunning. I love the effect of the butterfly using vellum and the colours are wonderful. I have had the same problem with ribbon coloured with ink (the only tip I can give is that it must be very dry before trying to adhere to anything).
