Sponging all the way

On our crafty weekend away we really set about getting a good start on our Christmas cards  and since I had enjoyed the sponging so much from the shoebox swap I decided to so some more. It was very helpful that three of was were working on the same card but it was also interesting to see how different each of our cards turned out depending on the way we sponged. We used the gorgeous Jingle all the Way and coordinating die and the Santa on his sleigh is from the Cozy Christmas set. The card base is Night of Navy which is particularly striking when combined with Whisper White and the inks for sponging were Pool Party, Island Indigo, Pacific Point and Night of Navy. The moon was created simply by punching a circle from a sticky note and removing it once the sky was sponged.
Sitting on our table were a bunch of the Sleigh Ride negatives so rather than throw them out we just mounted them on a Night of Navy base with a little silver glitter star punched out and added a silver embossed sentiment. These cards were so much fun to make and I seriously forgot how cathartic sponging can be.
