Weaving Madness

I have to tell you that this boring little card has caused me so much distress & bother. After I had such a lovely and relaxing time coloring this image from the Flower for All Seasons set, I decided that I would love to try the weaving technique. What a disaster. I tried it with large strips of cardstock, and it ended up looking like a big chess board, then I tried it with these tiny little strips...about 3 very frustrating hours later I have a very crooked piece of weaved something or other. Another hour or so trying to straighten it out (without ripping it!). I got it to the best that I could and then nothing I did with it looked any good! Grrrrrr! So I ended up whacking it onto a small square card with a big bow and put it away. That was now 2 weeks ago, and when I look at it now, it does not seem all that bad, not my most lovely or inspiring of creations, but not too bad. However, it certainly does not reflect the amount of time spent on it!

Oh you poor thing - to have soo much frustration - but the end result is fab - the focus is on the image and that lovely bow! The weaving adds a great textured background!

I love the way the whole basket thing ties in. It's awesome and hopefully a basket load of positive comments will help ail all the dramas you endured creating this. Well Done.

This ended up great. It is a really nice finish. And teams well with the basket.

I think your weaving looks fabulous Leonie! Woven baskets are rarely perfectly uniform...I think yours looks very natural. The card overall works beautifully.

I know the feeling of having worked on something for ages and feeling like it will never come together. I have a large bag of those sorts of 'projects' here...the 'maybe someday' projects. ;-).

Oh, how frustrating for you, but truthfully, it is quite a pretty card! Now that you have gotten all the quirks out of that technique, you need to try it again! The image is LOVELY! Works great for this card--sweet little bird & blooms!
