Getting on top of the workload

I have a bit of news this week, which is a little bit exciting, but a little bit scary too. I have quit my job and decided to be a 'stay at home Mum'...Wow! I have one more shift left at work on Sunday, then I will be unemployed for the first time since I left Uni 12 years ago. I think I may try to make a bit more of a go with Stampin Up, until now I have just been dabbling and seeing what happened with the little bit of time I put in, but now ...well, we will see! Anyway, with that decision made, I feel like I am finally getting on top of things at home, as well as in my craft room. I have made this card for little Miss Ella, who is a very close family friend, and it is her 4th birthday party next weekend (yes, made a week in advance!)The true colors of the card are not really evident in the pic as it is a dark, gray morning here in Melbourne.I saw a card like this on Michelle Zindorfs site a while ago and thought I would give it ago, but with my own twist. So, I started off stamping and coloring in the girl from "a kind word" set, and the branch from "echo's of kindness" set, then clear embossed them. I brayered summer sun, royal rose & almost amethyst over the top, and wiped the excess ink off the embossed images and sponged a little elegant eggplant around the top. I then stamped some grass from the "inspired by nature set at the bottom. Attached is a Happy Birthday sentiment from the retired "Perfect Princess" set, then I punched out the border with the eyelet punch. That was when I realised I had no idea how to finish the card! I laid the images on top of a few pieces of card stock and certainly celery seemed to suit the best, so then I used my color wheel for the very first time, and matched it up with blush blossom, with a dash of regal rose! A color combo I would never have come up with on my own! I finished it off with some heart buttons from my stash. I think this card suits Miss Ella very well, she is such a sweet little girl, I can just imagine her swinging on a garden swing looking just like this! Now I am off to do the washing, vacuuming and bathrooms while I am on a roll!

Wow love this card. You have been busy. I love this card heaps I am sure it looks so much better in real life. Good luck with your decision to be SAHM. I am one I made that decision one year ago and I have to say that it was the best thing I could of done even though I was scared out of my mind to do it but I don't regret that decision. It is a very hard decision but it can be very rewarding too.
