Folding Techniques

What fun we had last night, folding to our hearts content. I held a 'Folding Techniques' workshop last night, and it was great. I demonstrated an iris fold, a dahlia fold & an origami box.

You can visit this web site for a multitude of iris fold templates. It is such a pretty technique and all of the girls were really surprised at how easy it actually was to do. Here is the card we made:
And this was the wee little box, so sweet:
And I thought it might be nice if I shared how to do the dahlia fold. You simply take a circle of double sided paper and fold a little piece in on each side as shown in the photo hereThen turn it over, and fold back into the centre, like this:
Repeat the above step, and viola, you have created a sweet little Dahlia petal. Repeat this 8 times, and then glue each petal onto a circular piece of card stock and you will achieve a beautiful Dahlia in full bloom, like this:
So simple, and so pretty! Thanks for the great night last night ladies, I had so much fun :)
